He was invited to speak about an Asian perspective on fixing the global crisis by Patrick Honohan, the Governor of the Irish Central Bank. The number of farms in Europe fell by a massive 20pc between 2003 and 2010, according to the latest EU agricultural census. This appears to be indicative of a move by rich elite into real resource investment. The most vulnerable economies have had the greatest 'consolidation'.
