This submission to an interdepartmental group in the Irish government answers a set of ten questions on the development of a high-level policy statement on the bioeconomy, that were put forward in a recent discussion document by the Department of the Taoiseach. Feasta’s submission argues that far more emphasis needs to be placed on maintenance, stability and resilience while developing policy on the bioeconomy. It also describes some programmes and changes to the tax system that we believe could help bring about this change in emphasis.
